Update

So there really hasnt been much going on. Tommy is getting really good at recognizing letters. He is such a good boy. Jane can stand on her own and is taking a few steps. Yesterday she took 5 before she sat down. Her first tooth finally broke through. It only took 10 months. Our house is almost ready. The electric and plumbing is finished. There is running water, drywall, and all the brick and siding for the house is on. We just might be able to move in at the end of next month. I havnt been up to much, just the occasional cake and crafty things.

Jane loves corn on the cob.

I was wondering why 2 of my chairs were broken.

Thank you Becca for the tutu. So adorable!

New House!!!

Dave and I are buying our first house! We got in on a great incentive program to buy new construction homes. There were a list of floor plans to choose from. We chose a condo that is part of a four plex. It is three levels with 1835 sq ft with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. Just today I was able to go and pick out my flooring, paint colors, countertops and lighting fixtures. It should be finished by December 31st (hopefuly before November 30th to get the first time home buyer stimulus). This is what it will look like when its finished. Here is our view from our front window. Beautiful wild flowers and corn fields. This is what it looked like last week. Today when I drove by it had the second story framework up with some drywall. The roof should be on by the end of next week.

http://

If your ever wanting to watch a good UTube video, this guy has a lot of good ones. His chanel is WHatYouOughtToKnow. One of my favorites is on the 5 second rule. This is his own description of the show: A completely random assortment of useful and entertaining insights into... everything. But we can only do one at a time. Be patient. This daily podcast is full of useful bits of information presented in a way that will keep you smiling from ear to ear. Funny and factual, the title says it best. It's What You Ought To Know.

Seven Days!!

Tommy has been wearing underpants for 7 days. He is doing soo good. No more diapers. He is officially potty trained. WOO HOOO!!!

The Gremlin

This little girl is so cute but man does she know how to make a mess. Ive started calling her "my little gremlin" because she is so fast, gets into everything and has no shame. If she is caught red handed she doesnt see anything wrong with it, she just laughs. She even has a funny, but kinda scary, meschevious growl. She has a temper on her too. Ever since she started crawling and pulling herself up on things these have become some of her favorite things to do. Get into the diaper basket and pull everything out. Get stuck under the chairs and try to eat her way out. Stand up and scream instead of taking a nap. And last but not least, run away naked and be an agent of mass destruction. Ive seen her eyeing the trash can, so Ill just enjoy this time before she is able to spread my trash and dirty diapers everywhere.

But even with all the mischif she is still the sweetest little girl. She is a very serious baby and it has been a challenge for strangers to get her to smile. So far only one checker at WalMart was sucessful. Most of the time she will just look at them and not show any expression at all. Even Daddy has a hard time getting a smile sometimes. She is definatly every thing opposite from Tommy. He was happy, easily smiled and never really got into anything. I love my kids.

St Louis Zoo

This was a fun zoo. It was really hot! Tommy loved the waterfall and Jane loved the drinking fountain pool.

Happy Fourth of July everyone. We had a blast. We got to see a cool parade in the rain and fireworks with our good friends.

Gift Box Cake

Here is one of the latest cakes that we have done. We were really happy with the way it turned out. Check out the rest at http://www.panambicakes.blogspot.com/

They're getting so big!

Here is Janes first spaghetti experience. Lets just say that she really, really liked it. I even found noodles in her hair behind her head. How? She is almost 7 months old. Where does the time go? And I cant believe that Tommy's legs are so long. He isnt a baby anymore. He loves to draw. He is drawing all the time.

My little helper

Tommy loves to help with the baby. Jane just absolutely adores him. He is the only one who can really really make her laugh. This is just one of the ways that he helps me around the house. I think its so cute when he sticks out his tongue when hes consentrating trying to get the spoon in her mouth.

Nothing Much

Jane is 6 months old already. I cant believe how fast the time goes by with the second. We havnt been up to much. Just lots of cake orders lately. We are all still alive. Tommy is doing really well. He is starting to amaze us with his art skills. He is just getting more and more detailed and better at staying in the lines. He loves to draw and paint. The first drawing is one he did last week. The second is Daddy, a skeleton and Jane. You see how Daddy has a head, body and "big legs", and Jane is small with "widdle legs". The skeleton in the middle even has ribs. He is just getting better and better everytime he draws. Im so proud of my big boy.

Five Years

Dave and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary this weekend. It was so nice to go out with out the kids (thanks Mom). I cant believe it has been 5 years. It seems like it should be longer. Sometimes it feels like we were always together and hard to believe that there was a time when we werent. Its been a great 5 years and Im excited to see what the next 5 years bring us. I love you Dave.

Sunny Day

A warm sunny day is very unusual in the middle of March in Iowa. It was about 70 degrees with a light breeze. The perfect day for the park. We were at the park for about 4 hours. We just didnt want to miss all of the sunshine. We had a great time. Tommy and his new friends dug a hole so deep that they found water (there is a lake in the park). Here are a few pictures of our perfect day. After that we went to the pet store and looked at all the neat animals and dogs up for
adoption. For Tommy it was the perfect day.

No pictures until the end of the month. We just bought a house! Well actually a condo but its the same to me. Wow! I cant believe it! Now to choose a paint color and carpet....

Good News

Dave and I are now officially looking for a house. We are so excited. I have already looked at a few of them and I found one that I really liked. There are so many out there that I think it might take a while to decide on the best one. We will keep you updated.

Budcat is famous

The Governor of Iowa visited Dave's work last week. His company is growing so fast that the Gov. took notice. Dave is at the top of the stairs to the right in the blue shirt. The Gov. is the one in the tie. Daves bosses are the ones in the red and yellow shirt to the left of the Gov. Check out the link to read the article on the Guitar Hero website.

Monkeys on the Bed (Couch)

I knew this day would come. Im actually surprized it took him this long to realize that he had his very own playground inside the house. He is singning "Three little Monkeys" and at the end he is saying "Mommy, I look at it" As you can see Jane has gotten used to sleeping through anything.
He found the hole in the couch where all his missing crayons and toys have collected.

My Singing Telegram

Dave had been planning a surprize for valentines for two weeks and it finally came today. I couldnt belive it when I opened the door. He bought me a singing telegram! I just giggled through the whole song. It was a barber shop quartet and they sang me "I love you truly". It was soo awsome. I love you babe! Thanks.

Heart Cakes

These two are the ones that I did.

This pink one is the one I did for Gabby really quick the night before.

My friend Gabby and I got together to make these cute little heart cakes. They turned out too cute to eat. They are about 4in by 3in. They were so fun to make. I love valentines because you get to make so many really cute treats.

DaVinci's Notebook - Title of the song

http://

This is the perfect deconstruction of every N*Sync and Boyz to Men song. Don't get me wrong, I love both groups but this was sooo funny.

Snow Angels

Tom Tom loves the snow. I showed him how to make a snow angel and he couldnt wait to do it himself. For his first time he did pretty good, except that he only got half his body in actual snow. I would have put up a picture of our snowman but it got karate chopped before I could get the camera. I love my little ninja.

Random Stuff

This was Tommy's breakfast. Who needs the potaote when you have a pancake?

Tommy loves his little sister. They just cuddled up on the couch and he watched his movie while she took a nap. They were like that for an hour.

We played in the snow for the first time this winter. Snow pants are definatly a must in Iowa. Tommy looked so cute all bundled up. He couldnt get enough of the snow.
